Few other industries can offer quite the same educational scope – from earth sciences and environmental issues through to STEM subjects, geography, history and much more – as the mineral products industry.
Quarries have been described as the “finest outdoor classrooms” because of the rich opportunities they offer for out-of-the-classroom learning. The industry is experienced in hosting school visits for a variety of age groups.
We can also help facilitate provision of data on sustainability and economic issues, plus case studies on topical areas such as recycling, carbon reduction and increasing biodiversity, that will bring lessons to life.
Stem Ambassadors
The industry’s Minerals Matter initiative provides volunteer STEM Ambassadors to visit schools and colleges across the UK to inspire young people to consider an industry that shapes the world around us.
